🇨🇦 How will Immigration Define Canada’s 2025 Election?

🗳️ Why Immigration Matters
As Canada heads into the April 28 federal election, over 90 groups – led by the Immigrant Services Society of BC – are asking political leaders to support a fairer, more inclusive immigration system.

📢 What They’re Calling For
The coalition wants policies that welcome skilled workers, help undocumented people gain legal status, and improve access to housing, healthcare, and education.

🤝 Not About Politics – About People
Group spokesperson Tom Saville says this isn’t about left or right. “It’s about trust, fairness, and helping newcomers thrive in Canada.”

🏠 A Key Election Issue
Immigration is now a top topic. Liberals want better support, Conservatives want to link immigration to housing, and the NDP pushes for more migrant rights.

📌 Bottom Line
Immigration can keep Canada strong – but it needs smart, compassionate policies that help everyone succeed.

Applicants must have had a valid Expression of Interest profile on January 15, 2025, live and work in Manitoba, and intend to settle there permanently. This measure offers stability to workers and employers while supporting Manitoba’s long-term immigration and labour goals. The policy runs until December 31, 2025. Read more
