âś… Who Can Vote?
If you are a Canadian citizen, 18 or older, and can prove your address, you can vote in Canada’s federal election.
📝 How To Register
Register online at ereg.elections.ca, by mail, at an Elections Canada office, or on election day at your polling place.
🆔 What ID Do You Need?
Bring one government ID with your name, photo, and address – or two pieces of ID that show your name, and one with your address. A neighbour can also vouch for you.
📍 Where and When To Vote
Vote on election day, during advance voting days, by mail, or at an Elections Canada office.

You can get guides, interpreters, and phone support in many languages.

Canada has increased the right of citizenship fee for adult applicants to $119.75 as of March 31, 2025. If you paid the previous $100 fee, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will request the $19.75 difference. The new fee applies to all applicants 18 and over and must be paid before receiving a citizenship certificate. Read more
