Since June 5, the policy lets partners apply for open work permits if they are included as accompanying family members on the principal applicant's permanent selection application. The measure targets candidates already in Quebec's permanent pathway through the Programme de sΓ©lection des travailleurs qualifiΓ©s, and applicants do not need a Quebec Selection Certificate to benefit β confirmation that the permanent selection application has been submitted is enough. Read more Quebec has confirmed that its popular Quebec Experience Program (PEQ) will reopen on July 2, 2026, offering a temporary pathway to permanent residence for eligible graduates and workers. The province frames the reopening as a way to address immediate concerns while continuing its longer-term transition toward the PSTQ as its single skilled-worker selection system. Since December 2025, the PSTQ has issued 14,615 invitations, including 8,693 to candidates in Quebec's priority-sector occupations. The PEQ is expected to close again in July 2028.
